What is the National Counselling Society?
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, to give it its full name, has Accredited Register status with the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register programme. The Blended Counselling Practice follows all the National Counselling Society ethics and guidelines, as well as updating our practise by undertaking continued professional development training.
How many sessions do I have to have?
Everyone is unique. We will agree how many sessions we will have in our first face-to-face or online session, and can then amend that going forward, with regular and reflective sessions.
Can I stop at any time?
You can, but we will discuss an ending together. It’s important that both parties talk about stopping, because the ending of any therapy is important and should be talked through.
If I don’t want face to face therapy, are the sessions still effective?
Yes. Any session, whether face to face, online, or by phone, is time that is just for you. This time is dedicated to you, and you can bring to session whatever you feel you need to.
What online platform is used for sessions?
We use a fully encrypted platform called Doxy.me, which the medical profession uses. It works by me sending you an email link. If you feel more comfortable with Zoom or another similar service, then we can discuss during the initial consultation.
Who is relationship counselling for?
Relationships can be anything from couples, family, friends, work, and more.
Do you follow GDPR?
We follow all GDPR guidelines. For more information, review our Privacy Policy. We are also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office), as we may hold some information on an electrical platform.
What modality do you work in?
Professional psychotherapeutic counselling, in the pluralistic sense. I use a combination of techniques and strategies to tailor-make my approach to meet your individual needs, in the therapeutic sense.
